Through my years of starting and stopping running I have always found that it clears my head. I can see how running after writing for a certain number of hours can be helpful but for me it has always worked best running early in the morning to clear my head and thus set me up for a productive day. It’s particularly effective running at 6am in the winter months as I run past all of the houses on my street, many of which have no lights on. I feel like I’m getting a head start on the day!
