This just makes me incredibly sad. You’re right, it is impossible for a man to fully understand the actions women must take every single day just to feel safe. But what we must do is try our very best to empathise.

The problem I have is that it’s just not that difficult for us. I can’t think of a single time I have touched someone when talking. It doesn’t need to happen. Never sent a weird message to a girl I don’t know. Or one I do know…

Tonight I will drive for about an hour and a half in the early hours of the morning to pick up my girlfriend after she goes out with her friends because I know she feels uncomfortable in taxis. How crazy is that!? She is unable to use a service that we men barely give a second thought.

We just need to do better but unfortunately I don’t know if we will.
